Fixed media / Sound installation for 8 speakers
written for and produced with Miguel Pérez Iñesta
The performer's hearing is restrained by drummer's headphones and is asked to copy in real time what was sent into the headphones. The result of this impossible task is recorded and sent back into the headphones to re-draw it again and again and again, until there are 256 samples à 3 seconds tracing a slowly changing contour. 128 samples are overlayed, spread out over 8 speakers and looped, throwing out the 1st and adding the 129th sample, and so forth, until it went through all 256 samples.
See it as an object rather than a piece. It can be performed during a concert or as an ongoing installation.
