  2. Laure M. Hiendl [pronounce] (*1986, DE) is a composer and performer based in Berlin and New York. Their work is situated between concert music, performance, music theater, installation and other interdisciplinary realms, employing instruments mainly in interaction with electronic means, and exploring the performativity of the space-time-body relationship in music as a live act—as a shared space in time between bodies for an event that is inherently theatrical.

Their works have been presented at festivals and institutions like Ultraschall (Berlin), Impuls (Graz), Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, Bergen Assembly, The Kitchen (New York), Akademie der Künste (Berlin), Radialsystem (Berlin), Philharmonie Wrocław, Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires) by ensembles such as International Contemporary Ensemble (New York), Ensemble KNM Berlin, JACK Quartet (New York), Schallfeld Ensemble (Graz), Yarn/Wire (New York), Zafraan Ensemble (Berlin) and others. Their opera installation PARADISE was premiered at musikprotokoll / steirischer herbst 2016. In 2017 they co-founded the Y-E-S collective with Neo Hülcker, Stellan Veloce, Kaj Duncan David and Andreas Dzialocha.

Hiendl studied composition with Beat Furrer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt/Main as well as with Roger Reynolds at the University of California San Diego. Since 2015 they is pursuing a doctorate at Columbia University in New York with George E. Lewis.
